A human thyroid phantom was filled with a 99mTc solution and imaged with a Kromek HD-CZT thyroid camera that was custom designed for an OEM. A pinhole collimator is attached, with three pinhole sizes that are easy to exchange. A square parallel-hole registered collimator is available and was used to produce the thyroid phantom image shown. The thyroid camera is 8.8 cm x 8.8 cm in UFOV area with 44 x 44 = 1,936 pixels at 2.0 mm pitch. Tungsten radiation shielding is built into the enclosure and forced air cooling is provided, along with full digital readout electronics and an API that handles control and data communications with the camera through gigabit ethernet. The thyroid phantom image has been automatically segmented for ROI analysis using available third-party software.
