Kromek to attend Emergency Services Show at National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham on 20-21 September 2022.

Kromek, the Country Durham-based developer and manufacturer of radiation detection equipment will exhibit its latest systems and products at the 2022 Emergency Services Show being held in Birmingham (Stand F4). Kromek’s focus this year will be showcasing their range of detectors and their network capability.

The D3 and D5 range are handheld, or body worn, lightweight detectors. They are known for the speed and accuracy of detection and identification at the fraction of the size of traditional detectors on the market. Keeping the user safe, as it detects sources from a greater distance away, the D range performs in any setting including shielded, heavily masked, and mixed source environments.

Need to monitor large areas? The D range detectors can all be networked to create a regional or national warning and reporting system. Connected to a central control room, multiple detectors can be used to protect against radiological attacked or illicit movement of known, or unknown, nuclear materials. Networking can be by any communication mode ranging from mobile phones to static bespoke sealed and secure national infrastructure.  Backed by an impressive array of support options such as self-calibration and internal reportable diagnostics, Kromek’s aim is to support networked systems which provide highly specific and sensitive detection capability whether from a mobile or static platform.

Commenting on Kromek’s activity at the show Craig Duff Kromek’s CBRN business manager said “We are really looking forward to the ESS and interacting with the emergency and blue light services at all levels, whether senior officers or operational commanders and especially the operators. Come and see us on Stand F4 and discuss your requirements and operational issues”.
