Congratulations to Barry Sanderson who has just been awarded an HNC/D in Electrical Electronic Engineering specialising in semiconductors and instrumentation.
Barry Sanderson (Process Technician / Radiation Protection Supervisor) joined Kromek in February 2008, as employee number 20, having previously worked in semiconductor manufacturer. Actually, when Barry joined, the company was still called Durham Scientific Crystals and he began work as part of the cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) crystal growth team. As the company expanded Barry has left his mark on all our products, being involved in the R&D phase right through to product testing for almost everything we produce. Barry is also our radiation protection supervisor. Recently, he has completed his HNC/D in Electrical Electronic Engineering specialising in semiconductors and instrumentation – he going to need a much bigger business card.
Barry said “My family have been a massive support to me and if you can note that they were with me every step of the way.
I’d also like to thank lots of people at Kromek: Julie Savage Head of HR, Tim Wright (Operations & Engineering Manager), Derek Collins (UK Operations Director) and Arnab Basu (CEO) as they have supported me on my journey. Adam Tuff (Gamma Scientist) and John Mullins (Senior Staff Scientist) were very helpful when I needed a sanity check on my work. Louise McNamara (Project Manager) for giving me the opportunity to work on some innovative products.”
“I still have the same feeling now that I had on the first day, that we are making what seems impossible, possible. Seeing Kromek grow into a global company and to have been part of that from the start, fills me with so much pride. Who wouldn’t want to work in a place with a great team and fantastic products.”
