Development Test Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Development Test Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Development Test Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the development and improvement of our product line of automated biological equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct research, design experiments, and analyse data to develop new and enhanced products that meet customer needs and market demands. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure successful product development and commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development: Understand market needs and trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies. Use this information to develop new product concepts and enhancements.

Experimental Design: Design and execute experiments to optimise product formulations, manufacturing processes, and packaging. Utilise statistical analysis to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Product Testing and Evaluation: Perform thorough product testing and evaluation to assess performance, quality, and safety. Complete machine calibrations and setups. Identify and address any issues or areas for improvement.

Time Management: Lead product development tasks from conception to final application, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and observations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to product development. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.

Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and quality assurance. Coordinate efforts to achieve project goals and objectives.


  • Bachelor’s, or Master’s, degree in Biochemistry, BioMedicine, BioEngineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product development, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles, experimental design, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, preparations, equipment, and data analysis software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex scientific information to internal technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
