Customer Service Representative (US)

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative who would serve as first point of contact for customers with questions about Kromek products and capabilities, support the key account manager, liaison between customers and Kromek departments and ensure exports are compliant.

This is both a customer service and technical role in which you would need to understand the products, applications and the science and engineering that goes into making the products.

  • First point of contact for customers with questions about Kromek products, orders, export and delivery change requests
  • Notifies customers in case of delays or completions ahead of schedule.
  • First point of contact for RMA (Return Material Authorization) requests and status updates.
  • Respond to sales inquiries via CRM (customer Relationship Management) and issue quotations as needed.
  • Creates quotes via CRM and tracks customer communications, meeting notes, sales pipeline etc.
  • Directs customer questions to appropriate Kromek executives and departments.
  • Ensures all customer-required documentation accompanies shipment, including required export documentation, test reports, commercial invoices, etc.
  • Directs communications regarding international customers to Kromek UK leadership for review prior to distribution.
  • Conducts pre-sale & post-sale export compliance checks via a consolidated screening list.
  • Classifies Kromek products by ECCN (Expert Control Classification Number) and HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes and monitors all logistics activities.
  • Assists customers with harmonized tariffs and ECCN classifications.
  • Performs HTS classification of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Provides commercial invoice to overseas supplier, creating purchase order
  • Prepares documentation to meet customers requirements, TSA regulations and compliance with overseas countries.
  • ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance where applicable


  • Ability to quickly learn and understand Kromek products and applications.
  • B.S Degree in engineering, science, or related academic discipline is preferred.
  • Ability to acquire import/export administration acumen.
  • Good customer relations skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to learn (product and product application knowledge, import/export area)
  • Problem diagnosis and problem-solving ability.
  • Confidentiality as to product and customer information
