Received further funding of £2.5m for breast cancer screening solution developments

Entered a distribution agreement with Smiths Detection

Delivered repeat order worth $1.3m to supply D3M radiation detectors to a US customer in nuclear security

Received Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its outstanding contribution to International Trade

Bristol University used Kromek products to identify radiation hotspots in the Red Forest, Chernobyl

Part of the team awarded first place in the Early Diagnosis and Precision Medicine Award at the Bright Ideas in Health Awards for Improvements in Breast Imaging

Awarded $58m medical imaging contract

2018

Awarded first contract for biological-threat detection by DARPA

EV Products becomes Kromek USA and moves to a custom designed new production facility in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, USA

Supplied initial batch of D3S detectors to the United States government

Awarded sole supplier status for the belt wearable detectors in the US DARPA SIGMA programme

Launched Kromek onto the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) on the London Stock Exchange

2013

Acquired CZT production experts and medical imaging product manufacture, EV Products, in Pennsylvania, USA

2012

Start to work with NASA

2011

Launched initial civil nuclear products

2010

Acquired specialist electronics and ASIC manufacturing company, NOVA Research and Development, in California, USA

2010

Started to produce the bottle scanner, our ECAC approved liquid explosive detector

2009

Start to work with Department of Homeland Security

2008

Start to work with the United States Department of Defense

Renamed as Kromek

2005

Achieved first contract with the Home Office, UK

2004

Secured first order from the European Space Agency

2004

Moved to the North East Technology Park (NETPark) incubator

Durham Scientific Crystals (DSC) spins out of Durham University
